Basic Crime Scene
Investigation Course

This course is designed for newly assigned detectives, patrol
officers
or any law enforcement personnel having duties in crime scene
investigation. This course is
also a beneficial refresher course for experienced
investigators. Proven methods and techniques
are demonstrated and time is allotted for each student to
perform hands-on training in many of
the topic areas. Basic instruction is provided in the areas
of photographic techniques,
sketching, fingerprint powders, superglue fuming, evidence
collection & packaging, footwear & tiretracks and latent
development processes. Class size is limited to 20.

Fingerprint Comparison
Course
Blount County (TN) Sheriff's Office
This course is designed for all personnel having duties
associated
with the use of fingerprints as a means of identification.
This would include persons comparing
inked prints or live scan prints to establish existence of a
criminal history or to establish
identity of a deceased person. Also, a very useful course for
persons assigned to a latent print
or identification section that are required to compare latent
finger and palm prints from crime
scenes to the inked prints of suspects to establish
identification or elimination as the source
of the print. Excellent course for personnel that are newly
assigned to an ID Unit or AFIS
section. Class size limited to 15.

Fingerprint Classification & AFIS Preparation Course
Louisville (KY) Police Department
This course is a standard 40 hour course in fingerprint identification that covers
recognizing pattern types, Henry classification system, AFIS overview and basic comparison
techniques. Great course for personnel that have been recently assigned to a Records and
Identification or AFIS unit. Students need to bring a fingerprint magnifier and ridge counter.
Class size is limited to 12.
